§ 23-22. Penalties for violations.

  • (a)

    Any person who shall violate a provision of this article or shall fail to comply therewith or with any of the provisions hereof or shall violate a detailed statement or plans submitted and approved hereunder shall be guilty of a separate offense for each day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this article is committed or continued, and upon conviction in a court of competent jurisdiction for any such violation such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days, or both, at the discretion of the court of competent jurisdiction.

    (b)

    Any unauthorized person who shall maliciously or willfully break, damage, destroy, uncover, deface or tamper with a structure, appurtenance or equipment which is a part of the public sewerage works, or who shall unlawfully remove a notice posted under section 23-28(b) shall be deemed to have violated this article and shall be subject to prosecution in a court of competent jurisdiction.
